How to Read a Construction Estimate Like a Pro: A Contractor’s Guide

 4. Work and material cost separation

Some estimates break costs down into:

  • Material Cost

  • Labor Cost

  • Equipment (if applicable)

This helps you identify where money is going and allows value engineering later.
